By going to see the dispensary, consulting with budtenders and doing our research, I’ve learned how to distinguish nice quality buds. Smell is a single of the biggest indications of freshness and whether or not I’m going to appreciate the flavor. Because of its terpene profile, each strain stinks different. If I savor the scent, I’ll most likely appreciate the strain; Decent flower has a powerful smell that can be fruity, flower, piney or even diesel-like, then low quality flower can have a very stale stink that is similar to ancient hay. The color is also important, then premium cannabis is available in hues from bright green and orange to reds and deep green. If a jar of flower catches our eyup, I usually ask to stink it. Looking closer, I should find an abundance of what looks like shards of glass. They are the trichomes that are responsible for the terpenes and effects. Before buying a new strain, I constantly ask about the effects. Certain flower works to cut down on anxiety while others can have a stimulating effect that can make it worse. Some are better for helping with a nice night’s sleep while others have an uplifting and energizing effect.
