Being a father was a life changing experience for me, and served to make me a better person.
Before my first kid came along I was a wild child.
I lived to party, I stayed out all night every night, and I dated a lot of different people, sometimes all at once. I wouldn’t change that period of my life for anything, but I am glad to be done with it. Having a kid changed my perspective on living, and I had no problem walking away from that lifestyle to settle down and be a family man. Although many things have changed, my love of cannabis is as strong as ever. The biggest difference now is that I am deeply concerned about secondhand cannabis smoke. It is not enough to simply smoke cannabis in another room, I need to keep it out of the house entirely. Secondhand cannabis smoke can get into the air vents and circulate through the house, and it is very bad for the lungs of young children. Something new I learned is that even when I smoke cannabis outside, away from the house, the smoke particles can stick to my clothes, my hair, and my skin. For this reason I mostly stick to edibles now, at least until the kids goes to sleep at night. If I have time to take a shower and change clothes afterwards then I will smoke cannabis, but otherwise I stick to something smokeless. Edibles aren’t as good as smoking, but it still helps me to make it through the day.
