Before the law actually permitted legal cannabis delivery, I did it illegally! I am not a drug dealer.

I had a superb task as the manager of the only medical cannabis dispensary in town, but this was some time ago, when the laws were absolutely sketchy… Recreational use was still completely illegal, & medical use was only allowed under special conditions.

This put me in an odd position at work, because some of my clients who desperately needed medical cannabis more than anyone were too sick to come & get it themselves. As I said, cannabis delivery was totally illegal, so I took a massive risk making deliveries to these clients… even though I did it anyway! I didn’t use the car, I rode my bike, & only carried one cannabis order at a time. They would cover the cost for everything on delivery, & the next day I would ring in the sale at the weed store & put the currency in the register. As I said, I was not doing this for personal profit, I just happened to believe that medical cannabis is a God-given right for everybody, & these elderly people deserved their medicine. I never got in trouble at all for doing this, by the way. I made quite a few cannabis deliveries on my bike while in that time, & never had issues in the slightest. I did earn loyal clients for life, because all of these people valued my services a good amount, & stayed loyal to my cannabis dispensary until they eventually died. That is the real sad part, is that over the last few years all of them ended up dying.

As I said, cannabis delivery was totally illegal, so I took a sizable risk making dwelling deliveries to these clients… although I did it anyway! I didn’t take the car, I rode my bike, and only carried one cannabis order at a time. They would pay me currency upon delivery, and the next afternoon I would ring in the sale at the cannabis store and put the currency in the register. As I said, I was not doing this for personal profit, I just happened to understand that medical cannabis is a God-given right, and these elderly people deserved their medicine. I never got in trouble at all though. I made dozens of cannabis deliveries on my bike during that time, and never had any troubles in the least. I did receive loyal clients for life, because all of these people valued my services tremendously. They stayed loyal to my cannabis store until they died. That is the nervous part, is that over the last few years all of them passed away.

I was born and raised on a farm, so far out in the sticks that it took a long period of time just to get to the nearest Walmart. Where I live currently I have three Walmarts all within walking distance! As you might imagine, weed was not all that simple to come by in the country. Anyone that wanted to have a supply of cannabis needed to grow it themselves. I tried growing marijuana plants a few times, but I never had any real success. In the city there are an abundance of cannabis stores, so acquiring weed is easier than it ever has been for me. At the same time, the cost is fairly prohibitive. Simply paying rent in the city is tough, so I don’t have a ton of money left over to spend at the cannabis dispensary. One setback with residing here is that out in the country I could grow as many cannabis plants as I wanted and no one would ever notice. My cramped apartment has particularly little space, which makes growing marijuana much more tough to do. Also there is the problem of power consumption, because growing cannabis inside a residence causes a major spike in utility usage. For some reason it is legal to buy cannabis at the dispensary, yet still illegal to grow it yourself. It is a particularly horrible feeling, to have easy access to all the cannabis I could ever want, but I just can’t afford it!

In the neighborhood there are an abundance of cannabis dispensaries, so acquiring weed is easier than it ever has been for me. At the same time, the cost is quite prohibitive… Simply paying rent in the neighborhood is financially crippling, so I don’t have a large sum of money left over to spend at the cannabis dispensary. The one negative of living here is that out in the country I could grow a good amount of cannabis & no one would ever notice. My current place has entirely little space, which makes growing marijuana a real challenge. Also there is the actual setback of power consumption, because growing cannabis inside a place genuinely causes a spike in utility usage. For some reason it is legal to buy cannabis at the cannabis shop, yet still illegal to grow it yourself. It is a fairly weird feeling, to have easy access to all the cannabis I could ever want, even though I just can’t afford to pay for it!

Cannabis-infused beverages don’t have the harmful side-effects of alcohol and don’t cause me a hangover in the morning.

When I visit my local cannabis dispensary, I’m always excited to check out their selection of edibles. Their inventory seems to expand every month, and they typically feature an edible as one of their daily deals. I like the simplicity of cannabis-infused edibles. I don’t need to invest in any specialized gears such as a grinder or rolling papers to consume them. They don’t create any odors, smoke or ash. Edibles are helpful for precision dosing. The packaging lets me know how much THC or CBD I’m consuming per portion, and I can easily divide them up to reduce potency. I might eat half of a gummy before bed or a quarter of a brownie before heading off on a hike. The majority of edibles don’t taste like weed. They are sold in all sorts of really great flavors. I can buy grape, cherry, sour apple and watermelon flavored gummies. There are milk, dark and white chocolate bars as well as caramels, toffee and peanut butter cups. I like the different types of cookies. Just recently the dispensary added cannabis-infused ice cream and beverages. I now shop for mocktails, colas, root beer, lemonades, tonic and cannabeer and drink them instead of alcohol. The effects are very mild. Cannabis-infused beverages don’t have the harmful side-effects of alcohol and don’t cause me a hangover in the morning. Because the cannabinoids are absorbed through the mouth, the effects come on a little quicker than with traditional edibles. I’ve learned to start with the lowest dosage of edibles and wait at least an hour before consuming more. The effects are delayed yet especially intense and long-lasting.

In the beginning, I strictly shopped for dried cannabis flower. Although the dispensary carries a wide variety of options, I wasn’t interested. I enjoy smoking. I appreciate the rapid onset of effects and the flavor. There are some drawbacks to rolling a joint. It wastes quite a bit of the flower, requires specialized gear and creates a mess. I was willing to buy pre-rolls because of the convenience and affordability. However, there was still the problem of requiring an ashtray and lighter. The smell and smoke drew unwanted attention. A budtender at the dispensary finally convinced me to try cannabis vapes. I was surprised by the superior flavor and potency. The budtender explained that a vape eliminates the combustion process. The cannabis oil is only heated to the point of creating vapor, leaving the terpenes and cannabinoids intact. The terpenes are responsible for flavor and smell. The cannabinoids are the reason for the effects. Because of this, vapes provide a more beneficial experience. Plus, the vapes use a battery and are operated with the push of a button. They don’t create smoke, ash or odors. The better options allow me to control the temperature and the amount I inhale. This is very helpful for dosing. There are both disposable and refillable cartridges that are so compact, they fit easily into my pocket. I love that smoking a vape is discreet. The dispensary carries a wide variety of indicas, sativas and hybrids in all potency levels. I can even purchase CBD vapes. I still sometimes smoke a joint on the weekends but typically opt for the convenience of a vape pen.

All over the country, people are beginning to realize the lovely health benefits that medical marijuana can offer, and i started using recreational cannabis with my friends.

I liked the high feeling that made me feel jittery & talkative. I got high with marijuana & went to a club. I didn’t recognize about who was enjoying me when I was dancing. I didn’t feel care about I had to perform. I didn’t realize that marijuana would be able to help me at work in the same way, then one afternoon I was about to supply a speech at work & I was legitimately nervous. I couldn’t shake the nerves & I threw up in the bathroom twice. I was afraid that I would lose my opportunity for a large promotion if I didn’t do well. I had to do something to calm down my nerves. I knew that I had a half of a marijuana joint in my car, so I went to the parking garage for some fresh air. I was going for 10 or 15 minutes, but my boss knew that I was collecting myself. I took several puffs from the marijuana joint that I had in my vehicle, but the pot was super stale & it tasted horrible, however it worked just the same. I instantly felt better. I felt relaxed instantly & I rapidly didn’t care legitimately much about the meeting upstairs. I was much more relaxed than I was before I went to my car. Thankfully, I had some eye drops in my bag. I got rid of the red eyes & went upstairs to take control of the meeting.
