Can you believe how hard it is to go to the dispensary?

Did you know how difficult it is to go to a marijuana dispensary? I had never been to one, so I didn’t know that there were so many hoops to jump through.

Before you even go to the dispensary, you have to find a doctor who will assist you in the process of getting a medical marijuana ID card.

My primary care physician was not up to date on the changing policies with medical marijuana, so she really did not give me any useful information at all. Once I found a physician who specializes in pain management and could give me an examination for a medical ID card, I then had to make the appointment. Once I made the appointment and handed over a few hundred dollars, the doctor said he would send the report into the state. After a while, I finally received an email indicating that the state had received the information from my doctor. Despite the money I spent on the examination, I now had to pay another fee to get the actual medical marijuana ID card. Finally, I had my medical marijuana ID card in hand, so I went to the closest marijuana dispensary in our area. I walked up to the door, medical marijuana ID card in hand, and flashed it at their camera, but the man said I had to go back and wait in my car for the pharmacist to call me. The pharmacist asked why I had a medical marijuana ID card and provided numerous alternative suggestions. I went back to the door and flashed my ID card at the camera again. They let me pass through the door and asked to see my card again once I got inside. After seeing my card, they buzzed me through the final door that led into the actual marijuana dispensary. I was so sleepy and overwhelmed by the time I got into the dispensary that I couldn’t even figure out which marijuana products I was looking for.

It’s not easy to get access to a marijuana dispensary.

Since I had never been to a marijuana dispensary, I was not prepared for everything you had to go through even before getting into the dispensary! Just getting the medical marijuana card was a whole project on its own.

  • Our local medical professionals were not in the loop, which made it difficult for them to provide me with any relevant information.

It took me months to find a medical professional who specializes in pain management that was able to examine me for a medical ID card. It took another few weeks to get an appointment. Once I had the appointment, I gave them $250 cash. The next step was for the medical professional to send the report into the state. Within a few weeks, the state had the information from the medical professional. I then received an email with instructions to go to the website to pay $50 for a medical marijuana ID card. Once I finally had my hands on a medical marijuana ID card, I went to the closest marijuana dispensary in our area. I walked up to the door, medical marijuana ID card in hand, and I passed it to the person at the door. It turns out it’s not that easy. You have to call the pharmacist from the car. The pharmacist then asks all kinds of questions as to why I had a medical marijuana ID card. The pharmacist then gave a bunch of other suggestions for relieving pain. I went back to the door and flashed my ID card at the camera again. They unlocked the door and let me in. I then had to hand my card over again. After seeing my card, they buzzed me through to the actual marijuana dispensary. I was so tired in addition to overwhelmed by the time I got into the dispensary that I forgot what kind of marijuana products I was looking for.

I couldn't believe what I went through just to get into the dispensary.

Never having been to a marijuana dispensary, they did not prepare me for everything you had to go through even before getting into the dispensary.

It was bad enough that everything I had to go through to get a medical marijuana card was so complicated.

Our local doctors were not in the loop, and they could not give me any information. I still get asked for ID at the age of 30

I often accompany my brother to the marijuana dispensary because I am his caretaker.

I go with him a few times a month, and I had never had any problem going into the dispensary, especially since I had my caretaker’s ID.

Last week, however, when I walked into a new marijuana dispensary, someone came over even before I got all the way through the door. I was a bit taken aback and wondered if there was something wrong with my identification. My brother stood there looking at me oddly, as if I knew what was going on. I had to wait until the man came back with my ID card before I could go through the door. When he returned, he handed me the ID card plus apologized for his reaction, and he said that there were a lot of underage people trying to get into the dispensary. He further explained that if they were found there, even if they were with a family member, there could be a lot of repercussions for a marijuana dispensary. I kind of chuckled as I glanced down at my ID card. He said he would not have believed I was 35 years old, and he had actually pulled my ID card because he figured I could be underage. After the mishap, he was extremely welcoming to my brother and I. He wished us a good day, and we went right on into the marijuana dispensary. My brother had previously placed an order on the dispensary’s website, so he was able to pick it up with ease. As soon as he had the order, I could see he could barely contain his laughter. He told me that maybe I should grow a beard plus dress a little better before the two of us opted to go back to the marijuana dispensary again.

I thought he was underage.

Lately at the marijuana dispensary I work the door at, there have been many underage people trying to slip by the security check.

Even if an underage person is coming into the marijuana dispensary with their parents, there could still be major legal repercussions.

Last week, someone came into the dispensary that looked like they might be underage, but he was there with his mother. I made a point to take his ID into the back to double check. I could tell when I returned that he and his mom were extremely confused by my actions. It turns out that the man was over 30 years old, so I apologized repeatedly for my actions. While the man was nice about it, he laughed at my explanation. He couldn’t believe that I mistook him for some teenager coming into the dispensary with his mom. It turns out, the only reason he was there with his mom was because he is her caretaker. No one had ever given him trouble for his caretaker ID, but he didn’t seem to be upset about the misunderstanding. I welcomed him and his mother into our marijuana dispensary, and I made sure to tell them to have a wonderful evening. His mom went on into the marijuana dispensary plus picked up the order that she had previously put in online. As the two of them headed out the door, I could see his mother could barely contain her laughter. It looked like she was teasing him about growing some facial hair as they left the marijuana dispensary.

I got ID'd at the dispensary.

She went on into the marijuana dispensary, picked up the order that she had previously put in online, and made her way to the door

Being my sister’s caretaker, I accompany her on all her medical errands, including her trips to the marijuana dispensary. I have all the necessary ID to prove that I am her caretaker, so no one has ever questioned my legitimacy. At least, that was the case until I walked into a marijuana dispensary last week. Before I even got my foot in the door, someone came over to me. I was surprised that she was asking to take another look at my ID card. I wondered if there was a problem with my ID. My sister stood there looking at me like I had done something to make them question my ID, but I had no idea what the problem was.I had to wait until the woman came back with my ID card before I could go through the second door. When she returned, she handed the ID card over apologetically. She went on to explain how they’ve had a big issue with minors trying to get into the dispensary, so they just needed to be extra careful when it came to checking IDs. I laughed instantly. After all, I am almost 40 years old and I am getting questioned as to whether or not I am an adult. I could understand that they needed to be extra careful, as they could face legal repercussions for allowing a minor to enter a marijuana dispensary. After we shared a laugh, she welcomed my sister and I into the marijuana dispensary. The woman told us to enjoy the rest of our day. Up until we went to leave, my sister had stayed quiet. She went on into the marijuana dispensary, picked up the order that she had previously put in online, and made her way to the door. The second we walked out, she laughed and laughed at me. She told me I need to start putting some makeup on and looking more mature before we return to the marijuana dispensary so that I don’t embarrass her again. That’s what I get for trying to be a good caretaker!

She thought I was underage.

For the last two years, I have been my dad’s caretaker.

Whenever he needs to go to the marijuana dispensary, it’s my role to accompany him.

Since I had a caretaker’s ID, this had never been an issue for me. Recently, when I walked into a marijuana dispensary, someone came over even before I got all the way through the door. I was a bit taken aback, but I handed my ID card over, as she requested. My dad and I were confused and unsure of what was going on. We waited about fifteen minutes before the woman returned with my ID card. Right away, she handed back my card and apologized for the strict regulations, but apparently a lot of underaged people have been trying to get into the dispensary. She said that even if an underage person went to the dispensary with their parents or another adult, they still were not allowed in. That all made fine sense to me, except for the fact that I’m 30 years old. I am surprised that she assumed I was not old enough to legally enter a marijuana dispensary. Then, the women finally let me and my dad enter the marijuana dispensary, so we were able to get on with our day. Dad went on into the marijuana dispensary to pick up the order that he had previously put in online. As the two of us headed out the door, I could see he could barely contain his laughter. My dad teased that I needed to dress more professionally and grow some facial hair prior to our next visit to the marijuana dispensary.

I intended to buy CBD.

Last week, I went to a marijuana dispensary with the hopes of purchasing CBD, however it didn’t quite go the way I intended.

When I started talking to the budtender on duty, she told me about all the specials… I tried to tell her ‌ I was strictly interested in CBD products, not marijuana.

At first, she told me they had CBD products… To my surprise, the CBD products that she was bringing out to show me all had THC in them. Once again, I told her ‌I was not interested in getting high. I just wanted CBD to help with some of my minor aches plus pains. About five minutes later, the director came over to ask if she could help. I explained to her what I wanted the CBD for and described my muscle aches and pains. Then, she pulled out multiple products. One was a lotion, one was a style of salve, plus the other was a tincture. She said they were all mostly CBD, but they had nothing in a marijuana dispensary that was pure CBD. If I wanted a pure CBD product, I’d need to look online to find it. They did not make those products out of the same style of marijuana. She assured me that if I were to purchase one of the CBD lotions, salves, or tinctures, that I would not get high. The only effect that I would feel from these products is relief in my muscles. I purchased the CBD lotion, but rubbing the lotion into my muscles counteracted any impact that any THC in the product could have.

I wanted a CBD based product

The intention of all of these products was strictly to aid in minor aches and pains, not to get high

I went to a marijuana dispensary last week with the express intention of purchasing CBD. Even still, the CBD products that she was bringing out to show me all had at least some level of THC in them. Once again, I told her ‌I had no interest in getting high. I just wanted CBD to help with some of my minor aches and pains. She told me that she had brought out the products that were best, but she didn’t think I could get anything that didn’t have some level of THC in it. After that, the manager came over and asked if she could help. I explained to her what I wanted the CBD for and what I would need! She pulled out multiple products. Debating between CBD and THC based products

While I went to a marijuana dispensary last week, I only went in hopes of finding CBD products.

When I started talking to the budtender on duty, he told me about all the specials, however I insisted that I was only interested in CBD based products.

I had no interest in purchasing anything with marijuana in it. The budtender told me they had CBD products. However, the CBD products that he was bringing out to show me all had THC in them. Again, I informed the budtender that ‌I was not interested in getting high. I just wanted CBD to help with some of my minor aches as well as pains. He brought his manager over to me to help clarify which products would be best for what I wanted. I explained to her what I wanted the CBD for, as well as what I would need! She pulled out several products: a tincture, a body gel, and a salve. She said they were all composed of mostly CBD, however they had nothing in a marijuana dispensary that was pure CBD. I asked where I could purchase pure CBD, and he suggested that I turn to the internet. She clarified that they did not make those products out of the same type of marijuana. She assured me that if I were to purchase 1 of their lotions, salves, or tinctures, that I would not get high. They contained primarily ‌CBD in all of these products. The purpose of these products was solely to aid in minor aches as well as pains. I purchased the CBD lotion. Rubbing the lotion into my knees counteracts the effects that any THC in the product could have.

Ultimately, I decided to purchase the product.
